2. Information We Collect

We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for, or directly related to, the provision of our Service. The types of information we may collect include:

  • Contact Information: Email address, phone number, and postal address.
  • Financial Information: Income details, asset information, tax details, and other financial data necessary for our wealth management platform services.
  • Usage Data: Information on how the Service is accessed and used, including device information, browser type, and log data.

We collect this information directly from you when you register for an account, use our Service, or contact us. We may also collect information from third parties where you have authorised this (for example, from your financial adviser or accountant).

3. Why We Collect Your Information

  • Cloud hosting providers: Our Service is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the Sydney region (ap-southeast-2), ensuring your data remains in Australia.

  • Regulatory authorities: Where required by law or regulation.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to any third party.

Cross-Border Disclosure

Your personal information is hosted and processed in Australia. We do not currently transfer personal information to recipients located outside of Australia. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and ensure that any overseas recipients are subject to enforceable obligations to protect your information in accordance with APP 8.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or alteration. These measures include:

  • TLS 1.3 encryption for data in transit.
  • AES-256 encryption for data at rest.
  • Role-based access controls.
  • Regular security reviews and monitoring.

No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this policy, or as required by law. Specifically:

  • Account data (name, email, contact details): Retained for the duration of your account plus 12 months after account closure.
  • Financial data (assets, income, tax details): Retained for the duration of your account plus 7 years to comply with Australian tax record-keeping obligations.
  • Usage data (logs, analytics): Retained for up to 24 months.
  • Marketing preferences: Retained until you withdraw your consent.

When personal information is no longer needed, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it in accordance with APP 11.2.

7. Access to Your Personal Information

Under APP 12, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you. To make an access request, please contact our Privacy Officer at privacy@tsg.com.au.

We will respond to your request within 30 days. In some circumstances, we may need to verify your identity before providing access. We will provide access free of charge unless the request requires an unreasonable diversion of resources, in which case we will notify you of any applicable fees before proceeding.

There are limited circumstances where we may refuse access as permitted under the Privacy Act. If we refuse access, we will provide you with written reasons for the refusal and inform you of the mechanisms available to complain about the refusal.

8. Correction of Your Personal Information

Under APP 13, you have the right to request the correction of any personal information we hold about you that you believe is inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete, irrelevant, or misleading.

To request a correction, please contact our Privacy Officer at privacy@tsg.com.au. We will respond to your request within 30 days.

If we correct your information and have previously disclosed it to a third party, we will take reasonable steps to notify that third party of the correction (unless it is impracticable or unlawful to do so).

If we refuse to correct your information, we will provide you with written reasons for the refusal. You have the right to request that a statement be associated with the information noting that you consider it to be inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete, irrelevant, or misleading.

9. Data Breach Notification

In the event of an eligible data breach as defined under Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988 (the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme), we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by law.
